Fr. Krzysztof Jagiełło (1975-2012)

Fr. Krzysztof Jagiełło was born on April 3rd 1975 in Trzebnica. He began his novitiate formation on October 24th 1996 in Trzebinia. He made his first religious profession on October 10th 2001 in the Cathedral of Wrocław. On June 29th 2002, at the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima in Trzebinia he was ordained to the Deaconate by the Most Rev. Jan Szkodoń. He was ordained to the Priesthood on May 24th 2003, also at the Sancuary in Trzebinia, by Franciszek Cardinal Macharski.

By the first decree of the provincial superior Fr. Krzysztof was assigned, as a catechist, to St. Jadwiga Parish in Dobroszyce. From July 2004 he was a catechist at Our Lady the Queen of Poland in Ponice. One year later he received the provincial superior’s permission to begin extramural doctoral studies in social ethics at the Pontifical Theological Academy in Kraków. On July 1st 2008 he was transferred to the religious community in Węgorzewo at Kopernika Street, as a parochial vicar of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. By the last decree of the provincial superior he moved, in July 2011, to Lower Silesia, where he worked as catechist at the Assumption of BVM Parish in Bagno.

Fr. Krzysztof Jabiełło passed away unexpectedly on September 26th 2012, near a filial church of Wielka Lipa, while on the way to the High School in Oborniki, where he taught young students. He was 37 years old. The funeral took place on October 2012 at the International Sanctuary of St. Jadwiga of Silesia. He was buried at the cemetery of Trzebnica.
