On August 22nd this year, at the Braslav’s Sanctuary took place the celebration of the 1st anniversary of the coronation of the miraculous icon of Our Lady the Queen of the Lakes.

It was exactly one year ago, when His Eminence Joachim Cardinal Meisner decorated the icon with papal crowns. This year in the celebrations participated great number of the faithful and clergy of Vitebsk and the entire country as well as from abroad. Over the celebrations presided the Most Rev. Władysław Blin with other Bishops from Belarus, Moldavia, Poland, Russia and Ukraine.
The main Holy Mass was presided over by the Most Rev. Mieczysław Mokrzycki, Archbishop of Lvov and the homily was given by the Most Rev. Petro Malchuk, Auxiliary Bishop of Odessa-Simferopol. The Society of the Divine Savior, represented among others: Fr. Bronisław Jakubiec, general consultor and Fr. Piotr Filas, provincial superior of the Polish Province SDS.
The 5th Diocesan Youth Days, the 4th Interdiocesan Pilgrimage of Families and the Night Vigil preceded the celebrations at the Sanctuary.
