With the change of political situation it came out, that the eldest citizens are practicing Catholics, but their children and grandchildren do not know anything about their religion.

During the entire summer vacation volunteers from different European countries came to Bilaj to offer their time, energy and zeal for love of Jesus. One of the first groups arrived from the International Volunteers of Don Bosco. Young Poles worked with Albanian children from Bilaj, Murqiny, Malkuça and with Gypsy children in Tirana. The group representing the Missionary Foundation Salvatti.pl provided for children photography workshops and theater workshops.

Representatives of the Salvatorian Volunteer Movement cleaned and decorated the missionary station  and involved in work around the house in Bilaj. Together with the volunteers of the missionary group of the Volunteers’ Center in Lublin, they organized for children and youth educational plays in Bubq, Malkuç Koder. Besides young people from Poland, in Bilaj worked also volunteers from France, England, Spain and Italy, who taught children English and provided for them workshops. In Bilaj young people pray together, talk about Our Lord, and meditate His Word.
